A non-machinable low cost electrode to weld cast iron. This electrode uses medium amperage. A steel core provides 65,000 PSI of tensile strength almost twice that of cast iron. Commonly used on gears, motor housings, machine parts, farm equipment, large frames or any other cast iron part where appearance of the weld deposit, machinability and color match are not important. May be used in AC or DC (reverse polarity). AWS number EST. 1/8" 90-130 operating amps.
